Neurofunctional Acupuncture

At MoveMed RX, we integrate Neurofunctional Acupuncture with targeted exercise therapy to
deliver evidence-based, functional treatment plans specific to each patient. Unlike traditional
acupuncture, which is guided by meridian theory, Neurofunctional Acupuncture is grounded in neurophysiology and neuroanatomy.

Fine needles are inserted at motor points, neuromuscular junctions, and peripheralnerve pathways,
often combined with electrical stimulation. This activates sensory and motor fibers, enhances neuroplasticity, regulates nociceptive signaling, and improves muscle recruitment and circulation.
When followed by targeted exercise therapy, these neurological changes are reinforced through movement, leading to measurable improvements in pain modulation, functional recovery, and long-term performance.

This integrative model is particularly effective for sports injuries, chronic painsyndromes, oncology rehabilitation, and autoimmune-related dysfunction, where precise neuromuscular activation and functional restoration are essential.
